Alcatel OT-S853

The Alcatel S853 is kind of a dream come true. People have been sending in their opinions about this phone, some surprised while the others saying that they knew it all along. Making a phone of this caliber is not beyond Alcatel. With the S853, they have proved that they have what it takes to enter the big league.
So what is that is creating all this hype? Its the Alcatel One Touch S853. This tri-band GSM handset was announced in the first quarter of 2005. Its form factor is the standard candy bar design. It has a large color display (176 x 220 pixels) within its smallish dimensions. This awesome TFT display will be capable of handling about 256,000 colors. The less than 100 gram wonder can be used for a variety of purposes besides calling people. The Mp3 player is likely to be one of its most popular uses owing to the "3D surround" that the S 853 proudly proclaims on its body. The stereo surround can be owed to the 2 tweeters as well as 1 bass loudspeaker that have been put into the phone.
The TFT display will show the photo of the caller (picture ID). In order to take these photographs, the user has been provided with a built-in 1.3 Megapixel camera. To store these photographs, the phone will come with a built-in 10 megabytes of memory. Obviously this memory is much less then required due to the humongous scope of features that the S853 has; Accordingly the engineers have provided a mini SD card (upto 1 Gb capacity). The Alcatel S 853 will be able to play Mp3 tones, AAC tones and of course polyphonic tones (64 channels). In case the user requires more songs then that he has stored in the phone, the FM radio tuner will allow him to listen to the available radio channels.
The S853 takes its supremacy to the connectivity front as well. It is able to recieve and send SMS, MMS, Emails as well as allows the user Instant Messaging. Bluetooth, GPRS and EDGE the other requirements to stay upto date in this fast paced world will make sure that the user is able to exchange data with most devices of his choice as well as access the net wherever possible. In case one wishes to exchange data with an older device that the phone even has the Infrared port.
